5. PPHC Collaboratives receiving State Recognition – 5 minutes

a. Minigrant Recipient receiving State Recognition - Appalachian Mountain Club partnered with Cultural Heritage and Ecotourism Committee, Piscataquis Economic Development Council to produce a Regional Recreation and Stewardship Map and Guide for Southern Piscataquis County. Recognized by the Governor and FERMATA Group for additional funding up to $80,000 to enhance product. Product to be utilized as a State Model.

b. Piscataquis County Youth Overweight Collaborative (PCYOC) – Invited to participate in a Panel Discussion at the Maine Harvard Research Center Conference planned for November 29 in Augusta to highlight County Successes. The topic: “Youth Overweight – Exploring the Role of Schools in BMI Screening.” Individuals participating in panel discussion include: John Dirnbauer, Superintendent M.S.A.D. #68; Sherry Gaudet, School Nurse, M.S.A.D. #68; Dr. David McDermott, Family Practitioner; Dr. Gretchen Huot, Pediatrician and School Physician for M.S.A.D. #41; Robin Mayo, Piscataquis Public Health Council; Greg Bellemare, School Health Coordinator, M.S.A.D. # 4.
