Child Birth Class Early Spring Location: Sebec Room Mayo Hospital Childbirth Education is a series of classes to prepare expectant parents for the birth of their baby. The expectant mother is encouraged to bring a family member or close friend with them as a labor coach. The childbirth classes are designed for the last trimester (final three months) of pregnancy. Casual dress is recommended and couples are encouraged to bring pillows and a blanket for comfort when scheduled for floor exercises starting on the third week of class. A healthy snack is offered during break time each week. We also offer an extended tour of the OB Department during the series. The fee for the childbirth education series is $100. Most insurance plans and Medicaid will pay for these classes. Please call 564-4293 to register. |

New moms support group Location: Mayo Hospital Mayo Regional Hospital’s Obstetrics Department is starting a new moms support group for women who have recently had a baby. The group will meet the second Thursday of each month, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the hospital. The group will help new mothers who need support with breastfeeding, sleep (or lack thereof), understanding baby’s development, and the emotional ups and downs of motherhood. The group will also help women who just want to meet with other mothers. Light snacks will be provided. The support group is a collaboration between Mayo Regional and the Parents Are Teachers, Too program at Penquis. For more information, contact Denise at 564-4417 or Jenny at 973-3581. |

Auxiliary craft fair Location: Mayo Regional Hospital, Resource Center, Dwelley Avenue, Dover-Foxcroft Mayo Regional Hospital’s Auxiliary is holding its first annual Craft Fair on March 12 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The fair will be held in the Resource Center’s conference rooms at Mayo, located at the rear of the hospital on Dwelley Avenue. |
