Drug drop-off program at Mayo June 30
Wednesday, June 21, 2006
DOVER-FOXCROFT - Expired or no-longer-needed medications can be dangerous to have around the house, and flushing them down the toilet can be hard on the environment. That's why the Penquis Regional TRIAD has created a Drug Drop Off Program so that medications can be disposed of properly.

Expired medications can be dropped off at Mayo Regional Hospital's Resource Center on Friday, June 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A member of law enforcement will be on site at that time to accept medications. Mayo Regional Hospital cannot accept medications without a law enforcement officer present. All medications will then be disposed of properly.

Penquis TRIAD is a non-profit organization comprised of law enforcement agencies, senior citizens and social service agencies, and TRIAD's goal is to prevent and fight crime and fraud aimed at senior citizens. The drug drop-off event is being co-sponsored by TRIAD, Mayo Regional Hospital's Seniority program, the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department, and the Piscataquis YMCA.

Contact Linda Davis, Seniority Coordinator, at 564-4250 with any questions.
