DOVER-FOXCROFT - The American Red Cross babysitter's training course will be prersented at Mayo Regional Hospital, funded in part by Mayo's Education Department. The course will be held Saturday, June 16, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. in the Sebec/Borestone room of the Mayo Resource Center. The course is designed for boys and girls age 11-15, and class size is limited to 18 participants. The cost is $20 per participant, and includes lunch and a textbook; participants should bring a baby doll with them. Call Linda Davis at 564-4427 to register. The babysitter's training covers five core areas: safety and safe play, basic child care, first aid, leadership and professionalism. Using an interactive, multimedia approach in a classroom setting, the course develops competence and life skills in young people.
