DOVER-FOXCROFT - On Saturday evening, April 5, the Penquis Higher Education Center in Dover-Foxcroft will be transformed into Las Vegas as some of Foxcroft Academy’s parents play host to the Second Annual FA Parent Auction. Parent volunteers are bringing you a fun-filled evening of food, friends, games, music, and great items to bid on, as well as a wonderful opportunity to see members of your community at an adult evening that is entertaining and sure to be memorable!
The Las Vegas themed event will kick off with the Silent Auction at 5:30 p.m. with the bidding continuing on throughout the evening. For your culinary pleasure, mouth watering appetizers created by Elise Templet will be offered, as well as a cash bar. For the risk takers in attendance, test your luck on some Black Jack and craps style games, giving you chances on some great prizes, including a 1.5 carat mystic topaz sterling silver pendant. At 7:00 the Live Auction begins and with auctioneer Ron Miles promises to be anything but boring! A grand prize drawing for a two night stay at the Bar Harbor Inn valued at $400 will take place at the end of the evening but you must be present to win.
The cost of admission is $10 per person which includes entry into the grand prize drawing, but also offered will be an “FA Cap” admission ticket for $50, which includes the FA cap, entry fee, 50 chances on prizes, and entry into the grand prize drawing. Admission tickets to may be purchased from Ron and Katie Miles or directly at the Academy. Some item highlights include a 3-day weekend in June or a guided turkey hunt in May at the Sebec Lake Lodge, $1500 worth of Sheldon Slate, a painting done by Maryanne Holt Starbird, signature member National Watercolor Society, an hour long hot air balloon ride, as well as many gift certificates and much more. Proceeds from the auction will be used to support the academic programming at Foxcroft Academy.
